behaviour for learning
At Horwood & Newton Tracey Primary School we promote and value good learning behaviours. We have developed a curriculum which develops the following areas, linked with an animal, to help the children remember them: working together (bee), good listening skills (bat), making links (spider), being resilient (ants), being ready to learn (elephant), empathy (monkey), making wise decisions (owl), taking risks (meerkat), being curious (cat), being creative (unicorn) and ( tiger) being independent.
Each class has a display of our learning behaviours and refer to them throughout the day.
Each class has a reward system which is linked with our animal learning behaviours. These points are added up each week for Awards Assembly on a Friday when the Family Group with the winning number of rewards gets the school Family Group cup.
