Class 4 parent/carer Information Spring 2021 of topics being taught and class information:

C4 Summer 2022 class information

This term our main topic is the Romans.

The daily maths teaching will include arithmetic and reasoning following the White Rose Maths scheme of work.  Spelling and grammar teaching will follow the Babcock teaching sequences following the "No Nonsense Grammar and Spelling programmes".

The class reading story will be "Roman Mysteries".

In Science, this term the class are learning about Earth and Space and Living things in their environment..

Our art work this term is studying  Graphic Inky Still Life..

 

 

 

Geography - How do volcanoes affect people's lives?

History - Our area of study for history will be the Romans with a trip to Barnstaple Museum and our popular storyteller Steve Manning bringing a Roman solider to life.

Computing - following our Purple Mash curriculum units focusing on text adventures and quizzing.

Music - pupils will learn how to play percussion instruments..

MFL - We will be studying French this term with our new curriculum Primary Languages Network.

PE - the children will have weekly cricket lessons with an external coach until half term and also have PE on the field covering athletics and rounders.  Sports Day will be on Thursday, 26th May.

RE - Our areas of study will be, "For Christians, what kind of kind is Jesus?" and "How does faith help people when life gets hard?"

DT - the children will learn about pulleys and gears link with a topic area.

PHSEE  - Our PHSEE learning will follow our rolling programme using "We Eat Elephants" programme of study to complement our learning.  The children will also be following our Sex and Relationships units using "Growing up with Yasmine and Tom" (see our PHSEE Curriculum pages for more information).
