Pupil Premium

If you think your child may be eligible for the Pupil Premium Grant, then please search on the Devon website to check.  This is a free, easy and quick service to use.  Your child may be entitled to extra money which will last for their entire primary school career.  To check if you qualify log onto the Devon Citizen's Portal:

Pupil Premium Funding – please see below if you qualify 

Your child may be able to get free school meals (and the school will get extra funding) if you get any of the following:

  • Income Support
  • income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)

Children who get paid these benefits directly, instead of through a parent or guardian, can also get free school meals.

Your child may also get free school meals if you get any of these benefits and your child is both:

If your child is eligible for free school meals, they’ll remain eligible until they finish the phase of schooling (primary or secondary).

Pupil Premium Statement 

The Pupil Premium is an amount of money the government allocates to each school, to support all pupils to reach their potential. It is particularly aimed at pupils coming from disadvantaged backgrounds, who may also be in receipt of free school meals or in care. There is also funding given to children belonging to service families, known as Service Premium.

The funding is added to the planned expenditure already in place to meet the needs of identified children in school, in order for them to make good to outstanding progress in their learning as measured by a variety of government measures (e.g. OFSTED, Raise online, data from key stage assessments).  For details of how we utilised our pupil premium, please click below.

Funding for 2024 to 2025

From April 2024, schools will receive the following funding for each child registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years:

  • £1,480 for primary-aged pupils

Schools will also receive £2,570 for each looked-after pupil who:

  • are defined in the Children Act 1989 as one who is in the care of, or provided with accommodation by, an English local authority or

  • have ceased to be looked after by a local authority in England and Wales because of adoption, a special guardianship order, a child arrangements order or a residence order

Schools will also receive £340 for pupils in year groups reception to year 11 recorded as Ever 6 Service Child or in receipt of a child pension from the Ministry of Defence.
