Two Year Rolling Programme

Our Two-Year Rolling Curriculum: A Journey of Discovery and Inspiration

At Horwood and Newton Tracey Primary School, we believe that learning is an adventure—one that should ignite curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of discovery. Our two-year rolling programme is designed to ensure that every child experiences a broad, balanced, and inspiring curriculum that nurtures their academic and personal growth.

Through engaging topics, high-quality texts, and hands-on learning experiences, our curriculum immerses pupils in history, geography, science, and the arts, all while developing core skills in English and maths. From exploring the mysteries of space in Stargazers to diving into ocean depths in Blue Abyss, each term offers new and exciting opportunities to think critically, solve problems, and connect learning across subjects. We use innovative resources such as Literacy Counts, White Rose Maths, and Curriculum Maestro to provide a rich and structured approach that supports deep learning and mastery.

We also celebrate the importance of global awareness and cultural understanding, integrating opportunities for pupils to learn about diverse communities, sustainability, and the wider world. Whether through exploring the legacy of historical figures, creating expressive artwork, or developing digital literacy, our pupils develop a sense of responsibility and respect for both their local and global community.

With a strong emphasis on resilience, independence, and collaboration, our rolling programme ensures that children develop not only knowledge but also the essential skills they need to flourish in an ever-changing world. At Horwood and Newton Tracey, learning is more than just the curriculum—it’s an enriching journey that prepares our pupils for bright and successful futures.
